So what is experiential learning and why is it the BEST way for both K-12 Youth and Seniors to learn? Experiential learning is a process in which a learner extracts new insights, meanings and understandings from an experience that can be applied to their lives.

Throughout the experiential learning process, the student/participant is actively engaged in:

• Questioning
• Investigating
• Experimenting
• Assuming responsibility
• Creating and constructing meaning

This results in students/participants that are engaged:

• Intellectually
• Emotionally
• Physically
• Socially
• Soulfully

The bottom line is that Culinary Life Academy's teaching methodology yields greater cognitive processing and retention - All while having fun and making delicious food...And isn't that what we want for our youth and seniors?

Cooking is one of the best ways to create highly social, dynamically engaging memories with friends. When combined with the stimulating learning that goes on in our educational workshops, it becomes a recipe for meaningful fun! And once the cooking is done, Culinary Life Academy's supplemental written curriculum provided  with each workshop enables educators, programming professionals and lay leader volunteers to have in-depth conversations as a result of their workshop experience - Encouraging participants to dive deeper on their own!

Here at Culinary Life Academy, we've created a community of learners inside and outside of the kitchen and classroom. In addition to your asynchronous video series license, all learners will also have the opportunity to experience Culinary Life Academy's synchronous Community Cook-Along Workshops, featuring exclusive live Zoom classes four times per year. And if you're unable to attend live, you have access to Culinary Life Academy's Community Cook-Along Workshop archive, where all past Cook-Along content lives!
